Exeter Night Walk Stewards Wanted

Looking for an unusual way to support Exeter Leukaemia Fund and Macmillan? Then why not volunteer to help steward for the first ever ladies only midnight walk in Exeter? We are looking for a small army of stewards for this event – with the support of the Express & Echo, we hope to see 2,000 ladies take part in one of the largest charitable events the city has ever seen!

Registration for Exeter Night Walk will be staggered from 8pm at Exeter Arena with ladies setting off for the city centre towards the midnight hour. The route is approximately 12 miles and will take most individuals between 4 – 5 hours to complete.

Volunteer stewards are essential to help make this event a big success and also to ensure our ladies have a really positive experience on the big night supporting Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) and Macmillan with whom we are sharing the organisation of the event.

Managing as many as 2,000 ladies at night will be difficult – but with your help we can do it and have a great night out raising money for two vital charities. We need to identify 150 volunteer helpers (both men and women). Please would you help us on the night? There are a number of different roles to be undertaken and by asking you to complete an application form, we hope to allocate a suitable role to everyone and pair people up with friends.

Although we are asking most people to commit for the whole night, please be assured that we will work hard to ensure you are well fed and looked after; I suspect that most volunteers will want to ‘keep going’ in any case – there’s such a buzz about this event and who could walk away from the smell of bacon!?
